So it has begun. The making of ERIC III is now underway!

The third revision will draw from an inventory of over 700,000 Roman and Byzantine coins covering dozens of sources. Once complete, it will be the most comprehensive reference on the subject and carry the most beautiful coin photographs available. The work will feature enhanced sections on numismatic notes and biographies from each of nearly 300 rulers whose names and faces were borne on Roman coinage from the time of Augustus through the fall of the Byzantine empire fifteen centuries later. Without a doubt, ERIC III will boast by far the most complete and extensive catalogue ever attempted with an estimated 60,000+ entries in the Roman Imperial section alone and another 7,000 in the Byzantine. This enormous undertaking will require several years to finish and this page will serve as a method to track progress.

As before, I choose to work on sections at random. I'm now working on

Take an early look at ERIC III! The section on Severus Alexander is now complete and available for free download.
The third revision will make extensive use of the Coryssa ancient coin database. Plain reference numbers in the Reference(s) column relate to a record on that site. A reference listed as, for example, 123456 would show you a coin just like it at http://coryssa.org/123456
